Location: 1722 Springfield Ave. Maplewood, NJ 07040  a: The employer failed to provide abatement certification and documentation for inspection number 1708762, Citation 1, Item 1 - 29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2), which was issued on April 24, 2024. The citation was received by the employer on April 26, 2024, and became a final order on May 20, 2024.   Violation occurred on or about September 28, 2024.

29 CFR  1926.21(b)(2):The employer did not instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his/her environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury:  Location: 1722 Springfield Ave. Maplewood, NJ 07040.  a: The employer did not ensure that each employee working on a residential building received instruction in the recognition and avoidance of hazards associated with their work environment.  An employee, who did not receive training on fall protection and/or fall hazard recognition, engaged in framing activities, installing sheathing, and was observed working at the edge while bridging over the guardrails with any means of fall protection.   Violation occurred on November 6, 2023.

29 CFR  1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b).  Location: 1722 Springfield Ave. Maplewood, NJ 07040.  a: The employer did not ensure that each employee working on a residential building was protected from fall hazards.  An employee engaged in framing activities was installing sheathing and was observed working at the edge while bridging over the guardrails with no other means of fall protection exposing the employee to fall hazards.  Violation occurred on November 6, 2023.     Greatness GC Corp was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1674131, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on September 13, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 58 Beach Drive, Eastampton Twp, NJ 08060.
