29 CFR 1926.54(d):Standard laser warning placards were not posted in areas in which lasers were used: a.) EE Austin & Son, Inc., worksite location of 100 Erie Insurance Place, Erie, PA 16507, outside work area, southwest corner of building, on or about November 16th, 2023, and times prior thereto: Employees worked with and around a laser onsite. The laser was actively being used onsite without standard laser warning placards. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1926.54(e): When the laser was left unattended for a substantial period of time, such as during lunch hour, overnight, or at change of shifts, the laser was not turned off: a.) EE Austin & Son, Inc., worksite location of 100 Erie Insurance Place, Erie, PA 16507, outside work area, southwest corner of building, on or about November 16th, 2023, and times prior thereto: Employees worked with and around a laser onsite. Beam shutters, caps or similar were not utilized as a means of protection for employees onsite while the laser was not in active use. The laser was not protected or turned off when the laser was not in use. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
