29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) S & K Electronics Inc. / Machine Shop: On or about November 14, 2023, and at times prior, employees were exposed to becoming caught in hazards while using the Takisawa Webb lathe to mill parts. The employer failed to ensure the chuck was guarded against contact. b) S & K Electronics Inc. / Machine Shop: On or about November 14, 2023, and at times prior, employees were exposed to struck by hazards from flying chips and sparks while milling materials on the unguarded Bridgeport mill. c) S & K Electronics Inc. / Machine Shop: On or about November 14, 2023, and at times prior, employees were exposed to struck by hazards from flying chips and sparks while milling materials on the unguarded Birmingham mill . d) S & K Electronics Inc. / Machine Shop: On or about November 14, 2023, and at times prior, employees were exposed to struck by hazards from flying chips and sparks while milling materials on the unguarded TRAH DPM2 mill.
