29 CFR 1917.44(d): The employer did not direct motor vehicle operators to comply with posted speed limits and other traffic control signs or signals, and written traffic instructions: a) On or about 22 November 2023, at the Puerto Rico Ferry marine terminal, Ceiba, PR. Employees engaged in marine terminal and ferry operations, and civilians/pedestrians, were exposed to struck by hazards as evidenced by the lack of traffic safety controls/information such as, signs indicating speed limits, pedestrian traffic clearly posted, and rumble strips/surface indentations, at appropriate locations throughout the terminal to remind drivers of speed. NOTE: Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
