29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): The employer shall not permit respirators with tight-fitting facepieces to be worn by employees who have: (A) Facial hair that comes between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interferes with valve function (As referenced by 29 CFR 1926.1101(h)(2)(i)):  On or about November 29, 2023, at a residence located at 2106 Ashland Street Oshkosh, Wisconsin, an asbestos removal worker reported for work with facial hair in excess of one day's growth. The asbestos removal worker was required to wear a half mask cartridge respirator while removing asbestos containing siding from the outside surface of the home. The facial hair was in the half mask cartridge respirator sealing area.
