29 CFR 1910.213(r)(4):The mention of specific machines in paragraphs (a) thru (q) and this paragraph (r) of this section, inclusive, is not intended to exclude other woodworking machines from the requirement that suitable guards and exhaust hoods be provided to reduce to a minimum the hazard due to the point of operation of such machines. a) On 11/25/2023 the employer did not ensure that the Morgan Notcher (serial # 120601167), employees were using to cut notches from wooden runners, was properly guarded in that an employee reached under the guard to retrieve notched runners, and came in contact with the notching blades, exposing employees to caught in hazards. The Millwood Lumber, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.213(r)(4), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1402456, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 5/18/2020, with respect to a workplace located at 2400 Larson Rd. SE. Gnadenhutten, OH 44529. Citation was vacated. The Milltree East Inc. DBA Millwood, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.213(r)(4), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1664202, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 6/21/2023, with respect to a workplace located at 2882 Adams Rd. Beaver, OH. 45613. Citation was vacated.
