29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazard(s) created by:  Instance A) On or about November 29, 2023, employees at Tanks Meats Inc., within the facility located at 3355 S. State Route 51 Elmore OH 43416 were exposed to amputation and laceration hazards to the fingers, hands, and arms in that the Hobart Meat Cutting Bandsaw (Model 5801) was not adequatly guarded. The unused portion of the blade was left unguarded while cutting meat.  Instance B) On or about November 29, 2023, employees at Tanks Meats Inc., within the facility located at 3355 S. State Route 51 Elmore OH 43416 were exposed to amputation and laceration hazards to the fingers, hands, and arms in that the Hobart Meat Cutting Bandsaw (Model 5216-D) was not adequatly guarded. The unused portion of the blade was left unguarded while cutting meat.

29 CFR  1910.1200(h)(1):Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area:  On or about November 29, 2023 the employer Tanks Meats Inc. at worksite located at 3355 S. State Route 51, Elmore OH 43416, did not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new chemical hazard is present. The employer did not provide information and training designed to cover hazards associated with the use of chemicals including but not limited to Chlorinated Degreaser, Sparclean Delimer, Stabilized Sodium Chlorite, Sani-T-10 Plus, and TB-Cide Quat. Employees were exposed to potential respiratory and skin irritation hazards while utilized the aforementioned chemicals in performance of sanitation tasks.
