On or about 11/28/2023, at 3001 110th Avenue Saint Petersburg, FL 33716, at the ferrous metal recycling station located within the landfill, an employee was using a pneumatic gun/lance to blow built-up debris from the picking platform conveyor belt and drive roller (tail pulley) while the conveyor system was still running, during which time the compressed air supplied to the pneumatic gun/lance from the air compressor was set to 125 PSI/was not reduced to less than 30 PSI, nor was the air gun/lance equipped with a safety tip nozzle/dead-ending type of exit orifice, nor was effective chip guarding used on the gun/lance, therefore exposing the employee to the hazards of the release of the compressed air and flying debris.
