(i) Except as provided elsewhere in this section, the employer must ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level is protected from falling. Employees engaged in vehicle repair operations located at 4141 South 80th Street, Omaha, NE 68127, were being exposed to fall hazards in that the employer has employees performing repairs on the top of school buses in the maintenance shop at heights approximately 9 feet 5 inches above the ground below without fall protection.

29 CFR 1910.30(a)(1):29 CFR 1910.30(a)(1): The employer did not provide training for each employee who uses personal fall protection systems or who is required to be trained as specified elsewhere in this subpart before any employee is exposed to a fall hazard. Employees engaged in vehicle repair operations located at 4141 South 80th Street, Omaha, NE 68127 were exposed to fall hazards in that the employer did not provide fall protection training to employees prior to them commencing repair operations on top of commercial buses with fall hazards of approximately 9 feet 5 inches.
