OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1) The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. On October 18, 2023, the employer did not ensure employees? hands were protected from being struck by the metal flipper gate installed on the Ropak Stikpak in room 7in situations in which the machine or equipment must be temporarily energized to test or position the machine and its components using empty packaging sticks. One feasible means of abatement include, but is not limited to, replacing the metal flipper gate with a soft non-metal material (e.g., rubber).
