Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1910.132(f)(1): The employer shall provide training to each employee who is required by this section to use PPE. Each such employee shall be trained to know at least the following: When PPE is necessary; What PPE is necessary; How to properly don, doff, adjust, and wear PPE; The limitations of the PPE; and, The proper care, maintenance, useful life and disposal of the PPE. On or about December 7, 2023, the employer did not ensure that employees were adequately trained on the requirement and limitations of personal protective equipment. Employees who were observed using chemicals such as Perkote 30-348 and BS-55 without using any hand protection did not know they were required to use it when doing so. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes: a) On or about December 7, 2023 , the employer did not ensure that employees used appropriate hand protection while cleaning with Perkote 30-348 exposing employees to aspiration hazards and skin irritation. b) On or about December 7, 2023 , the employer did not ensure that employees used appropriate hand protection, thereby exposing employees to health hazards associated with hazardous chemicals likely to result in injury such as use of BS-55 causes severe skin burns to the hands.
