29 CFR 1910.132(f)(1): The employer shall provide training to each employee who is required by this section to use PPE. Each such employee shall be trained to know at least the following: When PPE is necessary; What PPE is necessary; How to properly don, doff, adjust, and wear PPE; The limitations of the PPE; and, The proper care, maintenance, useful life and disposal of the PPE. On or about December 7, 2023, the employer did not ensure that employees were adequately trained on the requirement and limitations of personal protective equipment. Employees who were observed using chemicals such as Perkote 30-348 and BS-55 without using any hand protection did not know they were required to use it when doing so. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
