(i) When work is performed less than 6 feet (1.6 m) from the roof edge, the employer must ensure each employee is protected from falling by a guardrail system, safety net system, travel restraint system, or personal fall arrest system. a. American Coatings Corporation dba The Light Before Christmas located at 2628 East Cleft Dr, Upper Arlington, OH 43221 : On or about December 8, 2023, an employee was working within six feet from the edge of the porch roof of a residential home to install holiday lights without any means of fall protection/prevention in place. The following condition exposed the employee to fall hazards of over nine feet. American Coatings Corporation dba The Light Before Christmas was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1636323, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on February 14, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 2685 Weyant Street, Lewis Center, Ohio 43035.
