29 CFR 1910.243(a)(1)(i): Portable power driven circular saw(s) having a blade diameter greater than two inches were not equipped with guard(s) below the base plate or shoe which automatically and instantly returned to the covering position when the tool was withdrawn from the work: a) Unit 418 in the residential complex - On or about December 8, 2023, an employee cutting trim for a window frame (5 ?" x 40 ? " wood piece) using a Ryobi Floor Saw (5.5 IN. 24-Tooth, 8500 Max RPM, 18V, PGC21), operated the saw without a guard in place and while operating the saw, the employee's right pinky finger contacted the blade resulting in a partial amputation.

29 CFR 1904.39(a)(2): The employer did not report within 24-hours a work-related incident resulting in in-patient hospitalization, amputation or the loss of an eye: a) Unit 418 in the residential complex - On or about December 8, 2023, an employee cutting trim for a window frame (5 ?" x 40 ? " wood piece) using a Ryobi Floor Saw (5.5 IN. 24-Tooth, 8500 Max RPM, 18V, PGC21), operated the saw without a guard in place and while operating the saw, the employee's right pinky finger contacted the blade resulting in a partial amputation. The amputation was reported to OSHA on December 11, 2023.
