29 CFR  1926.760(a)(1): Except as provided by paragraph (a)(3) of this section, each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level shall be protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems or fall restraint systems.   On or about December 14, 2023, during the removal of roofing material and the layout of material to be cut to install a new structural steel wall at a job site located at 500 E. Aurora Rd, Macedonia Ohio 44056; the employer did not ensure employees working on a commercial roof were protected from a fall of approximately 18.8 feet by utilizing a fall protection system.  Chagrin Valley Steel Erectors Inc was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard  (1926.760(A)(1) Fall Protection), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1575852, citation number 01, item number 01A and was affirmed as a final order on (3/11/2022), with respect to a workplace located at 7676 Reynolds Rd, Mentor Ohio 44060.
