29 CFR 1910.36(d)(1): Employee(s) were not able to open an exit route door from the inside at all times without keys, tools, or special knowledge. On December 18, 2023, and times prior thereto, the employer did not ensure exit doors were unlocked in the production area to provide quick exit of the building in case of an emergency exposing employees to fire and smoke hazards. a) Exit door number 42 along the west side of the building was magnetically locked during operating hours while occupied by employees. b) Exit door number 43 along the west side of the building was magnetically locked during operating hours while occupied by employees.
