29 CFR 1910.177(g): The employer did not establish a safe operating procedure for servicing single piece rim wheels which contained, at a minimum, the elements listed in 29 CFR 1910.177(g)(1) through (12) :(a) At the shop floor, on or about January 02, 2024, employee(s) engaged in tire repair activities were exposed to struck-by hazards. The employee was repairing a valve stem in a single piece wheel when the bead seal dislodged from the rim hitting the employee in the head and face. The employer failed to ensure that employee(s) fully understood and followed the step-by-step procedures for servicing the rims.
