29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) ID area, Blade Shop; On or about December 27, 2023, and at times prior to the employer exposed employees to caught-in hazards in that the employer required that employees work on a blade sharpening machine without first providing a mechanism to prevent or protect employee from incidental contact with the point of operation while sharpening blade.
