29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips. At Waste Corporation of Missouri, LLC, located at 63151 W. 62 St. Mission, Kansas, on or about January 5, 2024, employee(s) engaged in garbage collection activities while operating 2009 New Way Garbage Truck were exposed to amputation, caught-in and crushing hazards. The 2009 New Way Garbage Truck was not equipped with a guard on the exterior of the tailgate that left an opening to the compaction area exposing the employees to ingoing nip point hazards.
