OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a) 500 Green Street, Canton Township, PA: On or about January 6, 2024, near the scrap pit located in the 110 mill, the employer did not ensure that employees were kept clear from loads suspended from cranes, in that an employee was crushed when he worked near a suspended scrap container at the # 56 crane after the load moved/swung pinning him between the container and a scrap pit gate, resulting in a bi-lateral lower leg amputation injury.

An employee suffered a serious injury due to a workplace accident, resulting in a bi-lateral double lower leg amputation. No trained person was available or assigned to render first aid and emergency medical response to the site was approximately 10 minutes.
