OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees who were exposed to struck-by and crushing hazards:  a) On or about January 09, 2024, and at times prior, employees were exposed to struck-by and crushing hazards from hoists that were in regular use and were not inspected frequently to ensure they were in safe working order in that the hook safety latches were broken, pendants were broken exposing wiring, and taped together, hoist up button was broken and missing directional indication, wiring festoon was broken, causing electrical wire to hang.  Abatement Note:  Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to inspect the hoists frequently by the operators or designated personnel, and periodically by a designated person, in accordance with ANSI/ASME B30.16, Overhead Hoists (Underhung), Section 16-2.1 - Inspections.
