29 CFR  1910.1030(d)(2)(i): Engineering and work practice controls were not used to eliminate or minimize employee's exposure:  STERILIZATION AREA:  On or about and at times prior to January 11, 2024, the employer had not initiated the use of engineering and work practice controls to minimize employee exposure to blood-borne pathogens in that employees placed contaminated reusable sharps into baskets for treatment in the ultrasonic bath using gloved hands rather than tongs or other tools.  After the ultrasonic treatment was complete, the employees again used their gloves hands to remove the reusable sharps from the baskets.  The gloves worn were thick latex examination gloves.
