On or about 10 January 2024, at the electrical service room, Salt River Marina, St. Croix, VI. The employer did not maintain working areas free of electrical and tripping hazards such as keeping live electrical cables free of exposed employees. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.

29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries: a. At the electrical service room, LPG propane tanks area and service piers, Salt River Marina, St. Croix, VI. Employees were exposed to fire hazards while performing marina maintenance operations on working areas with no fire extinguishers available or provided in case of a sudden fire. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.
