29 CFR 1910.106(b)(1)(vi):  Additional metal thickness or suitable protective coatings or linings were not provided to compensate for the corrosion loss expected during the design life of the tank as required:  a.  On or about 11 January 2024, at the storage tanks site, Tamarind Reef Resort and Marina, St. Croix, VI.  An advance state of corrosion in the outer lining/layer was observed; no paint coatings were in place to compensate for the corrosion loss on the diesel storage tank and on the LPG pipping connections.       NOTE:	Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.

29 CFR 1910.106(b)(6):  Sources of ignition were not eliminated or controlled where the presence of flammable vapors was possible:   a.  On or about 11 January 2024, at the storage tanks site, Tamarind Reef Resort and Marina, St. Croix, VI, in the surrounding areas where two (2) 5,000-gal diesel and 5,000-gal gasoline tanks were located, trash, wood, dry grass and bushes were observed creating a possible source of ignition.    NOTE:	Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item since it was submitted prior to citation issuance. Please disregard the abatement date.

29 CFR 1910.106(b)(7)(i): The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) code stamp, American Petroleum Institute (API) monogram or the label of the Underwriters' Laboratories, Inc. on a tank was not present as evidence for strength test compliance:   a.   On or about 11 January 2024, at the storage tanks site, Tamarind Reef Resort and Marina, St. Croix, VI.  No evidence was observed, nor provided, that two (2) 5,000-gal diesel and 5,000-gal gasoline tanks were hydrostatical strength tested; no marking of such test was in place.     NOTE:	Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.

On or about 11 January 2024, at the storage tanks area, Tamarind Reef Resort and Marina, St. Croix, VI.  In an area where two (2) 5,000-gal diesel and 5,000-gal gasoline tanks were located and used, it was observed that "no-smoking" signs were not posted in the vicinity.
