29 CFR  1926.55(a)(2): An employee(s) was exposed to substance(s) with a permissible exposure limit not preceded by (C) at concentrations above that specified in Table 1 of �1926.55 for that substance(s):   73 Howe Street, New Haven CT: On or about January 17, 2024, three employees were working with a propane powered cart-mounted concrete saw when they were exposed to carbon monoxide at concentrations in excess of the 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 50 parts per million (ppm). The cart saw was used in an indoor space which allowed the exhaust to accumulate.  a) One employee had been exposed to carbon monoxide at an 8-hour TWA of  132.3 ppm which is 2.65 times the PEL. The exposure concentration was derived by entering the employee's carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) concentration and other data into the Coburn-Forster-Kane equation.  b) One employee had been exposed to carbon monoxide at an 8-hour TWA of 140.7 ppm which is 2.81 times the PEL. The exposure concentration was derived by entering the employee's carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) concentration and other data into the Coburn-Forster-Kane equation.  c) One employee had been exposed to carbon monoxide at an 8-hour TWA of 266.1 ppm which is 5.32 times the PEL. The exposure concentration was derived by entering the employee's carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) concentration and other data into the Coburn-Forster-Kane equation.
