Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system.  On January 25, 2024, employees engaged in residential roofing activities at 11168 Portage Dr. Papillion, Nebraska were exposed to fall hazards in that the employer had the employees roofing a residential home without using any form of fall protection and a ground to eave height  greater than 11 feet.

29 CFR  1926.1053(b)(1):When portable ladders are used for access to an upper landing surface, the ladder side rails shall extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder is used to gain access.  On January 25, 2024, employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities at 11168 Portage Dr. Papillion, Nebraska were exposed to fall hazards in that the employer had employee(s) using a multi-purpose aluminum ladder as means of access to the roof without having extended the ladder a minimum of 3 feet over the upper landing surface.

29 CFR  1926.1060(a)(1)(iii):The proper construction, use, placement, and care in handling of all stairways and ladders.  On January 25, 2024, employees engaged in residential construction activities located at 11168 Portage Dr. Papillion, Nebraska were  exposed to potential fall hazards in that the employer had employees using a multi-purpose aluminum ladder that was setup and placed incorrectly as required by this sub-part as the ladder was set on the sloped roof to access the next level without securing the bottom of the ladder to prevent it from slipping out from under the employees during use.
