29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels and 50-feet (15.25 m) wide or less, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net s(a)(LOCATION)(IDENTIFY SPECIFIC OPERATIONS AND/OR CONDITIONS)(DESCRIBE HAZARD(S) WHERE NECESSARY) 1) 1636 NJ-38 Lumberton, NJ: An employee was exposed to a fall hazards. The safety monitor was observed stepping through the safety warning lines to use a blower to remove material off the roof and to carry a bucket of materials. Safety Monitor was not wearing any personal fall protection. Observed on or about: 01/20/2024 NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

Safety monitor was engaged in other duties and not completely focused on his job observing employees. Safety monitor was observed using a blower and carry a bucket with materials. Observed on or about: 01/20/2024 NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.
