OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to crushing and struck-by hazards associated with improper automotive lift operations: (a) On or about January 24, 2024, and at times prior to that date, employees were exposed to crushing and struck-by hazards while using automotive lifts, in that the lifts were not being lowered onto the safety locks prior to an employee working underneath the raised vehicle. Rotary two post lift, model # SP0A10N5T7, serial # DGN15D0006. Abatement note: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement would be to follow the requirements of the owners manual and ANSI/ALI, which includes, among other requirements, the following: 1. Ensure that lifts are lowered onto the locks before work is performed. 2. Institute a training program for the employees on the safe use of automotive lifts. 3. Document and record the training for each employee.
