The Hyster forklift, m/n S50FT, s/n F187V10303E, was operated with the liquefied petroleum gas tank alignment pin missing.  The Operating manual clearly addresses the significance of inspecting the fuel system and components before use. Employees were exposed to fire and explosion hazards while operating the powered industrial truck without the pin securing the liquified petroleum gas tank.
