29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1):Each employee on a walking/working surface having an unprotected side or edge which was six or more feet (1.8m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or person fall arrest systems. On the east side of the construction site, an employee performing painting activities on a commercial building over 6 feet without fall protection was exposed to fall hazards of approximately 16 feet to the ground below.
