29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.9(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale, or equivalently a dose of fifty percent: Location: Press Room On or about March 28, 2024, an employee who was operating the Koenig & Bauer printing press was exposed to noise levels at 134.4% of the allowable 8-hour time weighted average sound level (80 dBA). The equivalent level of the 134.4% is approximately 92.1 dBA which is capable of causing permanent hearing loss. The sampling was performed for 480 minutes during one work shift on March 28, 2024. The employer had not implemented a hearing conservation program as described above for all employees exposed to noise levels greater than 85 dBA.
