29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6)(ii): Except as provided in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(7) and 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(8), the employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, would provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical: a) Located at Plant 1. On or about April 2, 2024, Hi-Temp Northlake LLC dba Bluewater Thermal Services LLC did not ensure that multiple 50-gallon drums of boride powder mix located near the Boride Line were labeled. Employees were exposed to chemicals including, but not limited to boron carbide, silicon carbide and carbon black, when operating the Boride Line. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

On or about April 2, 2024, Hi-Temp Northlake LLC dba Bluewater Thermal Services LLC did not provide an employee operating the Boride Line with training regarding the health hazards associated with the hazardous chemicals in his work area. Employees were exposed to chemicals including, but not limited to boron carbide, silicon carbide and carbon black, when operating the Boride Line. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
