Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays, NY, 11946- Employees on site were exposed to falling off a scaffold due to inadequate planking. The lower working level of the scaffold only had only one plank installed; on or about February 16, 2024. b) Worksite, 2 W. Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays, NY, 11946- Employees on site were exposed to falling off a scaffold due to inadequate planking. An employee was working on the westside scaffold on the second level that only had two planks installed on it; on or about February 16, 2024. Note: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.451(e)(1): When scaffold platforms were more than 2 feet (0.6 m) above or below a point of access, portable ladders, hook-on ladders, attachable ladders, stair towers (scaffold stairways/towers), stairway-type ladders (such as ladder stands), ramps, walkways, integral prefabricated scaffold access, or direct access from other scaffold, structure, personnel hoist, or similar surface was not used. Cross braces were used as a means of access. a) Worksite, 2 W. Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays, NY 11946- Employees accessed a four-tier fabricated frame scaffold by climbing the frame. A ladder was not provided to access the working level of the scaffold; on or about February 16, 2024. Note: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
