This training must result in an understanding of the hazards in the permit space and the methods used to isolate, control or in other ways protect employees from these hazards, and for those employees not authorized to perform entry rescues, in the dangers of attempting such rescue (a) 200 Clearwater Drive, Rock Falls, IL 61071 - On or about February 26, 2024, the employer did not ensure that employees possessed the skills and knowledge to safely work in a confined space prior to entering a sewer system manhole at an approximate 11-foot depth. Employees were exposed to the hazards associated with sewage, an oxygen deficient atmosphere, and unknown air containments while working in a confined space. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
