Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to follow the guidelines in the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) B11.3 - 2012, Safety Requirements for Power Press Brakes.  Section 6.3.3.2 states "When provided, a foot pedal of the type that serves as an operator control shall be equipped with a means to prevent unintended press brake actuation."
