29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface having an unprotected side or edge which was six or more feet (1.8m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a. The Sales Office - On or about March 5, 2024, employees were working on an elevated work platform cleaning up HVAC installation site preparation work. The elevated platform was 10 feet off the first floor and was 5 feet wide by 15 feet long, the employee was exposed to a fall hazard. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access: a. The Sales Office - On or about March 5, 2024, employees were using a Werner multi-position aluminum ladder to gain access to an elevated work platform where they were working on roughing in the duct work, the ladder was not extended 3 feet above the landing or have a walk-through extension, employees were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 10 feet. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
