Fall protection was not being utilized while employees were engaged in painting activities from the roof. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.

9 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: On or about March 13, 2024, the employer did not to ensure that employees were adequately trained to recognize and minimize hazards associated with falls. Employees were exposed to falls in approximately 11'4 feet, while performing painting activities standing on a residential roof without using fall protection. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(6): Ladders shall be used only on stable and level surfaces unless secured to prevent accidental displacement. On or about March 13, 2024 , the employer did not ensure that the ladder used to access the top residential front of the roof was on a stable and level surface. The ladder was placed on the roof utilized by the employees to access top area of the residence to paint. The ladder was not secured at the top or bottom to prevent it from being displaced. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
