29 CFR 1926.701(b):All protruding reinforcing steel, onto and/or into which employees could fall, was not guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement: (a) Jobsite, Northwest Wall: On or about March 14, 2024, masonry employees of a subcontractor of Uhrig Construction, Inc., were building a wall in close proximity to multiple protruding uncapped rebar. The rebar, which protruded not less than 12 inches out of the ground exposed employees to impalement hazards. Uhrig Construction, Inc., had previously requested that the subcontractor abate the hazard, but the subcontractor failed to do so.
