29 CFR 1926.502(d)(16): Personal fall arrest systems, when stopping a fall, shall be rigged such that an employee can neither free fall more than 6 feet (1.8 m), nor contact any lower level: a- 1 Culvert Drive, West Windsor NJ: Workers installing floor trusses onto the top plates of a residential structure's fourth floor, and performing other related activities, were not protected from falling while wearing full body harnesses, connected to retractable lanyard housings ,that were attached to anchors that did not meet with the requirements of the standard, whose lanyard length would not have stopped them from contacting a lower level, and whose extended rope lanyards were not protected from damage as they ran across and through the wooden floor trusses and other wooden framing components. As such, these workers were exposed to fall hazards ranging from 9 feet to in excess of 40 feet. Condition observed and noted on or about 03/26/24.
