29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Production Area: Clausen Drill presses, including but not limited to model 1671, Serial number 529998, were not provided with a guard at the check and spindle to protect the operator from being caught in rotating parts or to protect employees from flying chips on or about 3//27/24. b) Production Area: Meuser and Company Lathe, model M3L, Serial Number M3L-39244 was not provided with a guard at the headstock to protect the operator from being caught in rotating parts on or about 3/27/24. c)Production Area: Hurco Milling Machine, model SMI, Serial Number SB8001095 was not provided with a guard at the chuck to protect the operator from being caught in rotating parts or to protect employees from flying chips on or about 3/27/24. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
