29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(iii): Special hand tools for placing and removing material(s) was not used to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone: Meat Cutting Area -Employees were using the Hobart hand saw to cut meat without utilizing the pusher plate to keep the operator's hands away from the blade resulting in a finger amputations. The Employer and OSHA agree that, as abatement, the Employer will require operators of the bad saw to utilize the pusher plate when processing product that is 4 inches or less.
