Sandblasting room: On or about July 23, 2024, the employer exposed the employee to respirator hazards, in that the employee was required to wear a supplied air hood while sandblasting in the sandblasting booth area, but the employer failed to establish and implement a written respiratory protection program with worksite-specific procedures.

29 CFR 1910.134(e)(1): The employer did not provide a medical evaluation to determine the employee's ability to use a respirator before the employee was fit tested or required to use the respirator in the workplace: a. Sandblasting area: On or about July 23, 2024,the employer exposed the employee to respiratory hazards, in that employer allowed the use of supplied air hood while sandblasting in the sandblasting booth area, without first providing a medical evaluation to determine if the employee was able to wear a respirator or not.
