29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  a) Production Area:  Milling machines, including, but not limited to, 3 Bridgeport Mills, serial numbers J302394, J203482, and J111776 and an Alliant Mill serial number 73104735 were not provided with a guard at the chuck and spindle to protect the operators from being caught in rotating parts and to protect employees from flying chips on or about 4/3/24.  b) Production Area: A Sigma Lathe (model and serial number unknown) was not provided with a guard at the headstock to protect the operator from being caught in rotating parts on or about 4/3/24.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
