1926.503(c)(3)  Inadequacies in an affected employee's knowledge or use of fall protection systems or equipment indicate that the employee has not retained the requisite understanding or skill. Note: The following appendices to subpart M of this part serve as non-mandatory guidelines to assist employers in complying with the appropriate requirements of subpart M of this part. [59 FR 40738, Aug. 9, 1994; 60 FR 5131, Jan. 26, 1995]   On or about April 12, 2024, an employee was not protected from a fall while performing residential roofing activities, exposing the employee to a 22-foot fall. The employee was previously trained and was wearing fall protection, which he then disconnected to speak with the foreman.   Salvo Architectural Roofing Contractors Inc.  was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1644704, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on November 30, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 644 Pine Winnetka, IL 60093.  Salvo Architectural Roofing LLC dba Salvo Roofing and Metal was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501 (b)(13) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1534400, citation 1, item 1, and was affirmed as a final order on July 14, 2021, with respect to a worksite located at 25 Mockingbird Lane, Oak Brook, Illinois.   Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
