Detachable side protectors (e.g. clip-on or slide-on side shields) meeting the pertinent requirements of this section are acceptable. a) On or about April 11, 2024, in the building next to General Contractor trailer: the employer did not enforce the use of eye and face protection while using pneumatic nail guns, exposing employees to eye injury hazards.

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(3): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee who wears prescription lenses while engaged in operations that involve eye hazards wears eye protection that incorporates the prescription in its design, or wears eye protection that can be worn over the prescription lenses without disturbing the proper position of the prescription lenses or the protective lenses. a) On or about April 11, 2024, in the building next to General Contractor trailer: employees were exposed to eye injury hazards when prescription protective eyewear was not provided for employees while using a pneumatic nail gun to build wood frames.
