On or about April 18, 2024, or times prior to, on the Northeast corner of the gin building, the employer dug a 9' wide x 21' long x 19'-foot-deep excavation without a competent person to identify possible cave-in hazards and to ensure that adequate protective systems were in place prior to permitting employees to perform work within the the excavation.
