29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): Employees were permitted to work in proximity to electric power circuits and were not protected against electric shock by de-energizing and grounding the circuits or effectively guarding the circuits by insulation or other means: Employees were exposed to electric shock hazards when equipment they were working around came into close proximity of a 7200 volt overhead power line.. This was most recently documented on February 22, 2024 at the jobsite located at Missouri Highway 92, Kearney, Missouri, when the employer failed to ensure or require overhead lines be deenergized, grounded, or other protective measures were in place to protect employees from electrocution and electric shock. A truck-mounted pump moved too close to the energized unprotected power line and became a path to ground. An employee operating the pump tip was shocked.

This was most recently documented on February 22, 2024 at the jobsite located on Missouri Highway 92, when the employer did not advise employees delivering concrete, of the location of energized overhead power lines, the hazards involved and the protective measures to deenergize, ground or otherwise protect themselves when working near overhead power lines. A truck-mounted pump moved too close to the energized unprotected power line and became a path to ground. An employee operating the pump tip was shocked.
