29 CFR 1926.651(k)(2): Where the competent person found evidence of a situation that could result in possible cave-in, indications of failure of protective systems, hazardous atmospheres, or other hazardous conditions, exposed employee(s) was/were not removed from the hazardous area until the necessary precautions have been taken to ensure their safety. a) 3535 Stanford Rd, Fort Collins CO: On or about April 25, 2024, and at times prior, employees were exposed to cave in hazards while installing a new water line in an unguarded excavation at depths of approximately 10 feet. The competent person failed to remove the employees from the excavation in situations that could result in a cave in.
