Guards shall be affixed to the machine where possible and secured elsewhere if for any reason attachment to the machine is not possible. The guard shall be such that it does not offer an accident hazard in itself. c) On or about April 30, 2024, at 505 N 72nd Avenue in Wausau, Wisconsin, on Line 13, employees were exposed to caught-in hazards created by three pieces of expanded metal used as guarding on the Ferrari Twin resaw machine without smooth edges. d) On or about April 30, 2024, at 505 N 72nd Avenue in Wausau, Wisconsin, on Line 13, employees were exposed to a caught-in hazard created by a piece of expanded metal used as guarding on the Moulder Feeding Table without smooth edges.

29 CFR 1910.213(i)(3): Woodworking machinery requirements. Bandsaws and band resaws. Feed rolls of band resaws shall be protected with a suitable guard to prevent the hands of the operator from coming in contact with the in-running rolls at any point. The guard shall be constructed of heavy material, preferably metal, and the edge of the guard shall come to within three-eighths inch of the plane formed by the inside face of the feed roll in contact with the stock being cut. On or about April 30, 2024, at 505 N 72nd Avenue in Wausau, Wisconsin, on Line 13, employees were exposed to in-going nip points created by the feed rolls on a Ferrari Twin resaw machine without a suitable guard installed. c) On or about April 30, 2024, at 505 N 72nd Avenue in Wausau, Wisconsin, on Line 13, employees were exposed to a potential caught-in hazard created by the rear blade on the Ferrari Twin resaw machine without a secured guard at the back of the blade area. d) On or about April 30, 2024, at 505 N 72nd Avenue in Wausau, Wisconsin, on Line 13, employees were exposed to a potential caught-in hazard created by the front blade on the Ferrari Twin resaw machine without a secured guard at the front of the blade area.

Hard-service cord and junior hard-service cord No. 14 and larger may be repaired if spliced so that the splice retains the insulation, outer sheath properties, and usage characteristics of the cord being spliced.
