29 CFR 1910.180(h)(3)(i)(b): The employer did not assure that the load was well secured and properly balanced in the sling or lifting device before it was lifted more than a few inches: On or about April 08, 2024, the employer did not ensure load was secured, properly balanced and all employees were cleared of the drop zone during the removal of a tree at a residential home located at 743 Neal Road, AKRON, OH 44312. During the tree topping process, a large branch broke free of the Altec truck mounted crane used to lower the cut sections of the tree and struck an employee resulting in an in-patient hospitalization.

OSHA was not notified of the employee on-the-job related in-patient hospitalization until April 26, 2024, via hotline phone call to office.
