29 CFR 1915.116(q): An employee was permitted to place him/herself in a hazardous position between a swinging load and a fixed object: a) USS Columbia (SSBN 826): On or about Apr 30, 2024, an employee worked carbon arcing cutting a weld joint holding a Command-and-Control System Module (CCSM) foundation, thus creating a swinging load, striking the employee while standing between the load and another module. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
